To celebrate this year, the three organizations at the heart of our local International Women’s Day celebration will be recognizing three women from our community that embody
and live out the mission of our organizations.SHE Counts is honoring Emily Moore for her volunteer efforts with our Math Club, as well as her work with MICA, the Dental Coalition, her church, and helping with tax preparation.
Grinnell League of Women Voters is honoring Dorrie Lalonde for her 20-plus years as a volunteer archivist, both for Stewart and Drake Community Library, as well as her 50 years of leadership in LWV, serving as board member countless times, President of the Grinnell League twice, and as Treasurer for the State League for three years.
Claude W. & Dolly Ahrens Foundation is honoring the late Jodie Gallagher for being an amazing mother, wife, daughter, friend to many, educator, and role model to the many students who were blessed to have her as their teacher.
