Every year the Greater Poweshiek Community Foundation celebrates the members of our communities that choose to do good and give back to make Poweshiek County a better place to live. JMP Early Childhood Iowa Seeks New Board Member
May 18th, 2016: The JMP Early Childhood Iowa Area Board is seeking a new board member effective July 2016. As defined by the Iowa Code Chapter 69.16A and Chapter 256I.7 the board is required to practice gender balance and will be looking for a male who is “an individual representing the business perspective on the JMP Early Childhood Iowa board”.

Poweshiek County Alliance Awards $97,260 to Local Organizations
The Poweshiek County Alliance (PCA) honored its 2014 grant recipients at a ceremony at the Foundation Offices on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Representatives from the 35 winning organizations received their checks and spoke about their projects. This year grants ranged from $250 to $7,000 for a total of $97,260. 2014 marks the ninth year that PCA has awarded grants. Since

The Greater Poweshiek Community Foundation is now accepting nominations for its annual Connie Marshall Spirit of Giving Award. Nominations are due by August 31, 2015. GPCF Community Fund Grants Awarded
At a grant ceremony held at the Foundation Offices in Grinnell on July 6, 2015, Tim Douglas, President of the GPCF board, presented 10 awards to nonprofits and public entities throughout Poweshiek County. The Community Fund began in 2009 with a goal of securing 1,000 individual members who each commit to donate $100 per year for 10 years. Members see
Tom Marshall, GPCF Founder Dies
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tom Marshall, 81, founder and past president of the Greater Poweshiek Community Foundation. Tom died yesterday in the Mayflower Health Center after battling colon cancer. Two of Tom’s three children were with him and the third completed a visit just a few days ago. Services for Tom will be
